I like to use cocoa powder to swirl our handmade soaps. It creates an artistic effect and moreover, it is one of the best (charcoal is another one)natural colourant among the many I use. Its colour does not fade over time and it smells good too.
Some friends and customers asked me how to swirl the soap. It is quite an easy art to master.
This is how I did it.
- Drop some small blotches of coloured soap (2 inches apart), on top of the plain soap mixture in the soap mould.
- Use a wooden chop stick to scribble some lines like this (see Sribble 1) and this (Scribble 2)
- As you draw the lines, you also drag the coloured blotches along and the swirl is created.
Happy soaping and swirling 🙂
